As I’ve felt into what wants to be written this week, so many possibilities spring to mind.
Leadership is a broad topic with no shortage of “helpful” advice, thoughts and opinions being shared out there. And I have no interest in adding yet another same-same voice to an already noisy space.
So I’ve been sitting with these questions:
What would be most valuable to you right now?
What would feel like a welcome, personalized gift in your inbox rather than one more item on your already long list of things you’d get to if you could only find the time?
What did the me who worked hard most want to hear? {I can tell you that it was not another “should” or “right way” to lead my business or my life ~ not another one-liner meme like “leaders eat last” or “leaders need to engage in more self-care.”}
What is it that helps the current version of me come back to center when the going gets tough? {Spoiler alert: it’s not “the tough get going.”}
The response that keeps coming through, loudly and clearly, for what to share is this: the possibility of something better ~ something that makes all of this {whatever this is for you} make sense, something that helps illuminate the greater purpose and immense value of all that you’re moving through.
I’m not talking about the “bliss bunny” perspective that says “focus only on the love-and-light and everything will magically get better.” {oh yes, I’ve been there too.}
I am talking about the whole-picture perspective that both acknowledges we are in the midst of challenging, turbulent times where it often feels forking hard to keep moving forward ~ and holds the possibility the inevitability of the gorgeous new world that’s being birthed through the contractions.
Let’s write a new story together
We create our realities from the stories we’re telling ourselves ~ individually and collectively.
It’s clear we’ve reached the end of the useful life of the story that begins…
Once upon a time, in a world of separation and scarcity, where those who survived were the ones who could take the most while giving the least….
We can collapse in despair over all that’s no longer working, or we can choose to come together to write a new story full of infinite possibilities ~ one that feels more like this…
As I watch with awe and appreciation, a world is emerging that is alive with connection and abundance, where people are coming together around a shared purpose, contributing their passion and genius in a way that leads to greater thriving for themselves and each other.
What would be different in your world if you, as an individual person or business, no longer had to do it all on your own?
What would change if you were an integral part of a supportive ecosystem?
Everything looks different from the Roundtable
I’m very visual {and I love to geek out on pre-christianized Arthurian legend and Celtic mythology}.
So, for me, the Roundtable is a really useful metaphor that helps me see and talk about living ecosystems ~ whole and complete systems that are interoperating as part of greater whole and complete systems.
This metaphor of the Roundtable works on so many levels, dimensions and scales ~ a way we can view all life from the tiniest nanoparticle to the vastness of the cosmos, as well as the interrelationships within our bodies, our families, our businesses and communities.
“The question is not what you look at, but what you see.” ~ Henry David Thoreau
When you start to view everything that’s happening in your world as part of an interconnected ecosystem ~ one that is designed to support you and your greatest potential ~ what you see and what you experience changes.
Views from the Roundtable
So, here’s a fun little framework that I’m inspired to play with going forward ~ and I’m inviting you to play along.
Each week {at least for the foreseeable future}, we’ll look at a specific topic ~ challenges, roadblocks and even “failures” that many of us encounter at some point in leading ourselves and our initiatives in the conventional narrative.
Then we’ll flip the script inside out so we can see and feel what becomes possible when viewed from the more holistic perspective of the Roundtable ~ when we imagine ourselves operating in a mutually supportive, interconnected ecosystem that’s infused with the principles of nature.
In this way, we’ll practice holding the highest potential of a thriving future and seeing what happens when we operate from that awareness, together living into that new story ~ one that makes all the difference in what we experience.
Bring your voice to the Roundtable
The new story is all about co-creation. It’s not something that can be written by any one of us alone. {What a relief that we don’t need to play the lone wolf anymore!}
So I’m asking you, inviting you, shamelessly imploring you to jump in here with me. Let’s play!
I really want these ‘View from the Roundtable’ posts to be highly relevant for you and your business or initiative, surfacing practical solutions that you can begin to implement right now in your daily life.
So please take a minute now to answer these few questions in the comment section below. And join in with your own thoughts, ideas and support in response to others’ comments.

NEW INTERVIEW!
Mindful Marketplace: What is Regenerative Leadership?
I recently had the pleasure of being a guest on The Mindful Marketplace radio show with Joel Skene, where I shared my journey and a more in-depth look at regenerative leadership.
Great questions! The current challenge I'm encountering is people remaining silent and staying in the shadows of our Cause, often unaware of their talents and how they can leverage them. I can see and feel their compassion and eagerness to make a difference, but I'm not certain that they understand how to channel their energy effectively towards contributing. I think it might be part of the old 'apathy versus activism' polarities that we've talked about many times before!
